Understanding Feng Shui
Feng Shui initially began as a set of principles that were used to determine the most ideal locations for a village to be situated in relation to its natural surroundings. This relationship was found to be the single determining factor as to whether a community thrived (by living in harmony with their natural surroundings) versus just barely survived (by working against the forces of nature, and not living in harmony with their natural surroundings).
Therefore, Feng Shui is the study of how the energy or Qi in our working and living environments affect us. Feng Shui techniques allow us to mitigate the negative influences while enhancing the positive ones.
“Feng” means wind and “Shui” means water. Feng - the wind, refers to the invisible or intangible qi that flows through a space. Shui - the water, is the visible, more tangible flow of qi. Feng Shui is essentially the study of the interaction of humans and their environment. It enables you to influence these interacting energies to achieve specific life improvements.
Feng Shui can be applied to all spaces where people live, work, recreate and interact.
What is Qi?
Qi is energy in the very broadest sense possible. Qi embraces all manifestations of energy, from the most material aspects of energy (such as the earth beneath your feet, your computer, and flesh and blood) to the most immaterial aspects (light, movement, heat, nerve impulses, thought, and emotion). Qi is in a state of continuous flux, transforming endlessly from one aspect of Qi into another. It is neither created nor is it ever destroyed; it simply changes in its manifestation.
Life is a gathering of Qi. A healthy (and happy) human being is a dynamic but harmonious mixture of all the aspects of Qi that make up who we are.

What to expect from a Feng Shui consultant
The job of a Feng Shui consultant is to identify positive and negative factors in the environment and to suggest strategies and remedies toward the balancing of both.
With every home or office’s Feng Shui audit I will make recommendations for enhancements of the positives and balancing of the negatives - but the choice is always yours to implement.
